More Effort, with Little Reward
No Stone Curlews could be found again, so onto Santon Downham, where a Lesser Spotted Woodpecker was seen well, drumming and calling. The Great grey Shrike was ssen at Lakenheath (Suffolk), but there were very few gulls to look through. News of a Great White Egret flying into SE Norfolk had us scouring thr area for a few hours to no avail. A Barn Owl was seen (the second of the day), a pale rumped Buzzard and a good flock of c 100 Reed Bunting were seen.
